The Lampies Song Wins International Acclaim in 2006

The Lampies song wins 1st Place in an International Songwriting Competition. Written by Mike Connaris of London based Mcasso Music, the Title song from the Lampies childrens animation series stormed through to win the Children's category against huge International competition.

The Judges included; Tom Waits, Chris Hillman, John Mayall and Jerry Lee Lewis.

In addition to the 'Title Track' of The Lampies there is also an album of songs available that has also been created by Mcasso Music.

BBC Success


When the first series was broadcast in 2001 it regularly achieved over 40% of target viewing audience. This figure reached over 50% during 2002.

Series Two of the Lampies was completed in March 2002 and generated similar audience figures with prime slots on BBC One and Two.

Who's Who in The Lampies


The Leader of the Lampies is Brigadier Bigbeam, who is based in the Electricity Power Station. This is no mean feat, when you concider that wherever there's a lamp, there's a Lampy! Captain Brightlight, Contact, Charge, Burnout and others join him in their struggle against the Roons - The lampies arch enemies whose sole intention is to plunge the Earth into darkness. Roons are obsessed by darkness and absolutely hate light, they'll do just about anything in their power to immerse the world in gloomy despair.
