Charge visits Prince Bishops Shopping Centre


On Sunday the 3rd of August 2008 The Lampies visited Prince Bishop Shopping Centre in the heart of Durham City.

Children were able to come and see some of the 52 episodes of the Lampies and try singing The Lampies Song. Lampies karaoke is catching on in the North East. Charge was giving away balloons and lollipops. Some luck families even got their own copy of Switch On To The Lampies.

Throughout 2008, Prince Bishops Shopping Centre is celebrating its 10th birthday. The Centre has 40 shop units and 400 car parking spaces beneath the centre. Stores include Bhs, Next, Monsoon, Fat Face, River Island, New Look, Boots, HMV and Superdrug, to name but a few.

Save the Children Giant Sleepover

Last week saw Save the Children staging a 'Giant Sleepover' with 50,000 children.
On the night of Saturday 14th of June 2008, thousands of children all around the world will join ed together to have lots of fun and raise money for Save the Children. It is hoped that it created a new Guinness World Record for the ‘biggest simultaneous sleepover across multiple locations’. It is estimated that there was over 50 thousand 5 to 16 year old children sleeping over in the UK.

Each child received a goodie bag. Inside each goodie bag information about the new Lampies DVD – Switch on to the Lampies. £2 from every copy sold of this DVD goes to Save the Children.

The Lampies are launched in the USA


On the 24th of June 2008 the LA based company PorchLight Home Entertainment introduced the Lampies to North America and Canada.

PorchLight have created two DVDs ‘Dustywuppy’ Running time 88 min ($14.98) and ‘Bikey’ Running time 55 min ($9.98).

As the Lampies move West children are now being invited to Light up their lives with the Lampies as they have fun saving the world from the darkness of the Roons.

Lampies Karaoke

Yes the Lampies Karaoke challenge is here. As a result of the popularity of the Lampies theme tune you can now find a Lampies Karaoke video on YouTube and on the Lampies official website.

Sing along with the Lampies with a 30second, 60 second or 2 minute versions. Yes there is a 2 minute version.

See if you can sing fast enough to keep up. Start practicing now and look out for the launch of the National Lampies Karaoke Challenge.

'A bit of a jam' now avilable


The new Lampies DVD: 'A bit of a jam and other stories' is now available from a wide range of on-line stores and HMV on the High Street.


13 episodes of 11 minutes packed into 2 hours and 20 minutes of children's entertainment.

Listen out for the Lampies in the North East


Listen out for the Lampies competition on Century Radio starting on Tusday 13th of May. Lisa Shaw's drive time show will be giving away an in-car DVD player and a new Lampies DVD every day on the week of the launch of the new Lampies DVD 'A bit of a Jam and other stories'.

New Lampies DVD to be Launched

On the 19th of May 2008 ‘A bit of a jam and other stories’ (Series One Disc1) will be launched. This new Lampies DVD contains the very first 13 the Lampies episodes.

With over 2 hours of Lampies fun it is guaranteed to be a big hit. Available from the 19th of May at HMV, Amazon and Play.com.

The First Lampies DVD is Launched



On April the 7th 2008 the first ever Lampies DVD became available in the UK. The introductory DVD called 'Switch on to the Lampies ' contains 6 episodes taken from the 52 that were craeted by Uli Meyer Animation..

The launch was spearheaded in the North East of England and one of the Lampies characters 'Charge' made several appearances in the centre of Newcastle and at Darlington Football Club.

Switch on to the Lampies is now avilable at HMV and Amazon.com.

Switch On To The Lampies


The new introductory DVD Switch On To The Lampies will be available in February on Amazon. This DVD has 6 Lampies episodes which gives you over an hour of Lampies fun. £2 will be given to Save the Children for every Switch On To The Lampies DVD sold in the UK.


The sales and distribution of this DVD and the 3 other DVDs that will come out this year will be through the well established specialists Pinnacle Vision.

The Lampies link arms with Save the Children


Save the Children work flat out in the UK and around the world to make sure children have food, education, healthcare and protection. They fight for the rights of children wherever they are in the world.

£2 the sale of each of the new Switch On To The Lampies DVD will go towards the Save the Children protection work with very vulnerable children in Mongolia. They run rehabilitation centres, where disabled children can get medical help or therapy. And their shelters for street children provide a safe place to stay, or just somewhere to drop-in and play with other children.


Through the Lampies we want children in the UK to help children in Mongolia.

The lampies go to America



In 2008 The Lampies are going to America. A terrific company called Porchlight Entertainment in California have agreed to bring the light of the Lampies to the USA and Canada. In the middle of this year Porchlight Entertainment will be producing DVDs that will be available in a range of stores accross America and Canada.
